The prototype couples a transmitter and a receiver through an oscillating electric field between conductive surfaces, so there is no coil pair and nothing to align. This is precisely why units are supplied only to registered organisations for their own testing, never to consumers.
There is no live application. A utility provisional was filed with the USPTO under 35 U.S.C. 111(b) but was not converted within the twelve-month window, so there is no priority date today. An unconverted provisional is never published, so the implementation has not entered the public record. Patentability and freedom-to-operate opinions come before any new filing.
